Welcome to The Celibeth House
The Celibeth House was built in 1895 by lumber baron, William Mueller, as his private residence. Mr. Mueller founded the village of Blaney touted as the first "modern lumber town" in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Our home has been operating as a bed and breakfast since 1987 and is newly open year-round. Located within an hour's drive of various Upper Peninsula attractions, The Celibeth House is convenient for day trips. For those who simply need a time of rest, our beautiful home and 72 acres offer much to explore. We look forward to welcoming you.
Guest Rooms
Much thought went into our guest suites. Named after historical figures of Blaney and the once renowned resort, Blaney Park, each of our suites offers a different experience.
Local Attractions
Blaney Park is centrally located for visits to lighthouses, Pictured Rocks National Shoreline, Seney National Wildlife Refuge, Fayette Historic Village, and other Upper Peninsula attractions. There are three antique shops in Blaney and numerous other antique shops in the area.
Breakfast
Breakfast is freshly prepared and served to you by the innkeepers each morning in our dining room. Quality organic ingredients are important to us so we do our best to provide locally grown and raised products when possible. Our menu includes such items as Kropsu, a Finnish baked pancake, quiche, farmer's hash, bacon or sausage, yogurt parfaits, muffins, fresh fruit, and more. The menu changes daily so guests can experience something different each morning.
May Contain Egg Farm & Gift Shop
The Celibeth House is also home to a variety of animals for your enjoyment. Take a walk to the new timber frame barn or pasture to visit with resident sheep, goats, alpaca, chickens, livestock guardian dogs, plus a horse and donkey. Not only do these friends provide us with entertainment, but we also have a variety of wool and alpaca fibers available. Visit our in-house shop for unique gifts including roving, yarn, and much more.
